Microwave Oreo Brownies

I've always been fascinated by microwave cakes ever since I saw an episode of Masterchef Australia two years ago and a contestant made a microwave cake in the last two minutes of their cooking time. This was the first I've ever heard of the cooking method, I never knew it was possible! I immediately Googled it and found out it's a method that has been around for a while. At that time I was too lazy to do anything about it. Well I was too lazy up till yesterday...

My sister saw this recipe on anakjajan.com (full link below). You should totally follow them by the way, their pictures and reviews are amazing!

Anyway, because time is something that I have plenty of right now, and I love Oreos, I decided I would do something about it now.

Ingredients:
  • 4 tablespoon plain flour
  • 4 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoon white sugar
  • 3 tablespoon salted butter
  • 5 tablespoon water
  • 8 Oreo cookies (I used orange ice cream flavour)
 Methods:
1. Crush 6 Oreos in a mixing bowl.

2. Measure out the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder and sugar) into a separate bowl and mix together with a spoon.

Hello Kitty are for adults too =)
3. Measure out butter in another bowl and microwave until almost all melted (around 20 seconds).

4. Add the water into the butter and mix well with a spoon.
5. Pour the dry ingredients into the bowl of oreos and mix well quickly.
6. Pour the butter and water mix into the bowl of oreos and whisk.

7. Pour the mixture into microwave safe bowls.

8. Microwave for 1.5 minutes. This time depends on your microwave so it might take longer or shorter, I recommend watching your microwave if it's the first time.

9. Eat and enjoy!

The whole process took around 15 minutes. The results was impressive and not due to my baking skills, just because it's a really simple and fool-proof recipe.

The brownies were moist and chocolate-y and because I used the ice cream flavoured oreo, it left a delightful minty aftertaste. They were really rich, making them a really satisfying snack or as a dessert. I did find the chocolate flavour a little bit too overpowering, so next time I will decrease the amount of cocoa powder. Also, on two of the brownies we placed half an Oreo cookie on top before microwaving and on the other two, we put the Oreo on top after microwaving. I personally like the latter method as the Oreo stayed crispy.

So if you love chocolate and craving something sweet but only have a little bit of time, then this is definitely a must-try!

Ta-daa (excuse the cables and rice cooker)

  2. The fan used in convection cooking adds to the size of the microwave and a convection microwave with .9 cf capacity will be larger than a basic microwave with the same .9 cf capacity.weight tracking machine at home
