Pat Bing Soo - Serpong

Jakarta's hot and humid weather makes it perfect for icey desserts. So when a new icey dessert place opened, we (my sister and I) just couldn't wait to try it out.

It's Pat Bing Soo in Serpong, Alam Sutera. The brand is a play on words of the Korean word, patbingsu which means shaved ice with red beans. Anyway, this is going to be a short review as I literally only have  12 hours until I have to fly off to China and my luggage is still in a disarray! But, don't worry, I only have positive things to say about this place, so even if you get confused by my mumble jumble review, just know that I would totally recommend you check this place out!

Dongdaemun Patbingsoo (Rp. 35,000)

We shared two desserts between the four of us, which was more than enough. The first one was Dongdaemun Patbingsoo, which was shaved ice topped with red bean, sliced banana, chocolate syrup, vanilla ice cream and crushed Oreo. This was soooo delightful to eat, I think banana and chocolate together is always a good idea. They gave a side of extra chocolate syrup, which we found completely unnecessary as there was more than enough topping.

Just a word of warning, you have to be strategic while eating these desserts as the shaved ice on the bottom has no syrup running through it so it's just bland ice, so make sure that you scoop all the way from the top to the bottom so you don't miss out on any icey goodness!

Apgujeong Bingsoo (Rp. 45,000)

The second dish we ordered, which was my favourite, the Apgujeong Bingsoo, the bingsoo in the name means there's no red bean. This was literally all cheese, the toppings were, baked cheesecake, grated cheese, cream cheese, cheese powder, a cheese wafer stick and condensed milk. This was my favourite because I LOVE cheese, but also because it sounds crazy, but it tasted amazing. The combination of sweet and savoury was perfect and the cheesiness wasn't overwhelming at all. Again, just remember to scoop from top to bottom everytime.

Oh my goodness sooo good!

So there you have it, short and sweet! I rate Pat Bing Soo 8.5/10 and can't wait until I get to go back and try the other flavours.
