Hanami For the Hundreth - Mt. Lawley

New Year's Eve is upon us! I'm sure I'm not the only still bewildered at how quickly 2015 has gone! I'm also sure that I'm not the only a little exhausted from all the festivities. Despite the exhaustion, I'm feeling very grateful and blessed for everything that has happened in 2015 and feeling pumped for 2016!

Before the year ended and mum left for Indonesia, we squeezed one more meal, just the two of us. This time we were actually heading to Morley and were suddenly feeling very hungry and we just happened to pass Hanami, a place I've yet to try.  We arrived at Hanami just before lunch time, once we were seated and was poring over the  menu, we were surprised at how quickly this placed filled up!

Sashimi Bibimbap ($16.90)

As I was reading through the menu, I was immediately drawn to their sashimi bibimbap. I love sashimi and I love bibimbap, so I was convinced that I would love this too. The only apprehension I had was, in my mind this dish was going to be served in the traditional heated clay bowl, which would probably cook the sashimi, defeating the purpose of having sashimi bibimbap. But, of course the chefs were much cleverer than I am, and it was served in a ceramic bowl. Just as I suspected, I loved this dish! the salmon sashimi was fresh and plentiful. All the ingredients they used just worked really well together!

Fish Teriyaki Set ($12.90)

Mum did not stray from her favourite Japanese menu item and ordered the fish teriyaki. For the price we thought the portion size was reasonable, even though she had hoped for more fish and less rice! Overall the flavour of the teriyaki sauce was delicious and mum was really pleased that her favourite menu item was part of their lunch menu, so it was an even better deal!

Mum and I really highly enjoyed the food at Hanami, I'm sure the fact she ate with me made it even better! Either way, we can't wait to get the family together to check this place out for dinner. I'll probably stick to my sashimi bibimbap!

Also, I just want to wish everyone a happy new year! Hope 2016 is going to be an even better year, for everyone, than 2015 was! And, if you're wondering what this blog post title has to do with anything, this post is my 100th post! Thank you so much for reading and your support and can't wait to eat more amazing food in 2016 and share it with you all! God bless!!
