Expresso Breakfast at Sapore Espresso - Belmont

One word people may use to describe me would be, punctual. Tardiness is actually one of my biggest pet peeves. Personally, I feel everyone's time is valuable, so if you've made a plan to be somewhere at a certain time, be there on the dot, or even earlier! So, I get very anxious if I'm running late, I usually end up calling the other person every few minutes to give them live updates on where I am and how long I'll be from arriving. Mr. T does not have my standard of punctuality, but on this particular Saturday morning he forgot the time on an invitation and we ended up arriving one hour earlier. So on this particular occasion Mr. T was inadvertently more punctual than me!

Making his mistake into a triumph, we decided to drive to a not so far cafe, which I've been wanting to try, Sapore Espresso Bar. Those gourmet shakes have been calling me on social media and I wanted to try one for myself.

Choc-Peanut Butter Gourmet Shake ($8.50)

After reading the gourmet shake options, I knew almost instantly that the choc-peanut butter shake would be the one for me! When it finally arrived, I thought it looked as good as the pictures! The shake was thick and creamy, but not too smooth due to the crushed ice. I'm not a big fan of whipped cream so I ended up scraping it off the top, but keeping the Reese's pieces to munch on. While the chocolate flavour dominated, which was nice, I would've liked a lot more peanut butter. Also, they had purposely allowed chocolate sauce to drip from all edges of the glass, but as it does not have a handle, it made the glass very messy to hold. It looked amazing, but everytime I moved the glass, I had to get the hand sanitizer out to remove the stickiness.

Spanish Baked Eggs ($17.90)

As we were short on time, we decided to share one main dish. We decided on the Spanish Baked Eggs which was served with two slices of sourdough toast. The baked eggs were delicious! It was very tasty, Mr. T thought it was too salty, but, it was just right for me. The chorizo was tender and very thinly sliced which was great and we loved the feta in it too!

What seemed like a silly mistake at first turned out to be a great opportunity to check out a cafe I've been wanting to try! This has taught me to always tell Mr. T that events are earlier than they really are! Anyway, based on this visit I would rate Sapore 7.5/10, I really expected more from the gourmet shake!

For an amazing peanut butter and chocolate shake I would highly recommend Run Amuk's Reese's milkshake!
