Watch Me Eat, Watch Me NeNe - Victoria Park

I'm grieving over the change of my work schedule. I now have to work Saturdays, I mean, I was the one who asked for Sundays off instead, so really I got what I wanted, but, whatever! The first Saturday I was rostered on happened to fall on the same day that Nene chicken was hosting their bloggers lunch, so naturally I asked for a half day at work (other than this time I'm a great employee, I promise). I was honoured and excited over my first ever invited lunch and was very glad I was allowed to bring a plus one, the lively Miss. S, thanks Nene. Miss. S and I were famished when we arrived and couldn't wait to start eating.

Large Korean Fried Chicken - 8 Pieces ($19.95 + $2 for Half & Half)

For the chicken we ordered the half and half so we could try the flavours we really wanted to. We ordered the swicy and snowing vegetable. Miss. S really wanted to try the freaking hot flavour, but she didn't for my benefit, but we did get the freaking hot dipping sauce on the side. Miss S. and I enjoyed both the flavours. The swicy was supposed to be sweet and spicy, it was sweet, but not too spicy. I loved the sticky sauce covering the swicy, although it got a little messy!

The snowing vegetable flavour was covered with cheese flavoured powder. This was less messy to eat and even more delicious. The seasoning on the chicken reminded of the cheese in Kraft Mac & Cheese, which I love. We also loved this flavour because it left the skin still very crispy and tasty.

Bulchi Chips ($8.95)

For sides we ordered the bulchi chips. Naturally we would order the fanciest side dish they had. This dish was a plate of crispy chips topped with kimchi, minced bulgogi beef and sour cream. Despite being very full, Miss. S and I couldn't stop picking at the bulchi chips, and by Miss. S and I, I mean me. The chips was crunchy, but the thick cut left the centre soft. The mixture of the bulgogi beef and kimchi was delicious and I thought the acidity from the sour cream would be too much with the kimchi, but it actually elevated the flavours!

Black Sesame & Green Tea mixed Soft Serve ($2)

To round off what was already a very filling lunch, we also ordered the soft serve cones. I ordered the black sesame and green tea mixed soft serve. I loved both the flavours individually and together, both were not too sweet, but the green tea flavour did overpower the black sesame. This was a very inexpensive and happiness-inducing dessert!

All that's left to say is, thanks Nene chicken for the awesome lunch and thanks Miss. S for accompanying me!
